Is Makeup Really Making You Look Better?

Is Make-up Worth the Effort?
This project consisted of Kayla Fann, Samantha Workman, Ashlee Kuan, Laura Guebert, and Whitney Woodis working together to find out if make-up really makes a person look more attracive, or if it just raises our self-esteem while in fact damaging our skin.  Make-up, is without a doubt, an essential in most girls' lives.  Most of us would probably feel incredibly self-conscious if we were denied our make-up everyday.  Our society has trained us to believe that appearances are everything.  There are so many advertisments that brainwash us to believe that make-up truly makes us look more attractive.  The purpose of this experiment was to see if people in our society really think that make-up makes us appear more presentable.  Besides performing a physical experiment, we collected a lot of research from various websites on the internet to solve the problem.  The information consisted of subjects such as harmful elements that effect our skin, make-up that actually helps our skin, and reasons why mostly girls are so "obsessed" with make-up.  This project shows certain issues to be true and others to be false.

Hypothesis
For this experiment, our hypothesis stated that people would think each of us looked better with make-up, as opposed to without make-up.
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment was to see if make-up made us truly look better.  We wanted to find out if wearing make-up was worth the cost, time, and risk to our skin.   Along with that, we wanted to see if too much make-up would eventually damage our skin and if there are safe types of make-up.
